7 PLANES OF EXISTENCE
Physical Plane (Etheric Plane or Etheric/Physical Plane), Astral
Plane (Emotional Plane), Mental Plane (Manasic Plane), Buddhic Plane
(Intuitional Plane), Atmic Plane (Spiritual Plane), Monadic Plane,
Divine Plane (Logoic Plane or Adi). Most people, when they die, will
stay in the astral plane of existence. The level within the astral
where they reside will depend on their individual vibrations.
AKASHIC RECORD
The record of a soul's past, present, and future lives stored on the
causal plane.
ALPHA WAVES
The borderline brain activity between conscious and subconscious;
the creative cycle; 8-13 cycles per second.
ASTRAL PROJECTION
The phenomenon of exiting the physical body and traveling around in
an "astral" body.
BETA WAVES
Problem-solving, normal state of conscious brain activity; 14-30
cycles per second.
BI-LOCATION
A remote viewing term that means consciousness is fully at the
target. The target can either be a person, place, event, or object.
CAUSAL
The causal plane is just above the astral plane. The place where
memories and karmic patterns are stored. The reader of the future or
past looks to this plane for information, or accesses it from other
dimensions.
CHAKRAS - As per the new age link on About.com
Chakras are the spherical whirlpools in the etheric body, that act
as transmitters of energy. They influence our physical activities
through the function of our endorine glands (glands of internal
secretions, such as the thyroid). These glands effect our physical
functioning, our mental equilibrium and emotional integrity. In
accordance with the use we give to them, they may be constructive or
discordant. Our ethereal body has 7 basic chakras. For more information go to the Astral Projection link and click on "Subtle Body Energies."
CLAIRAUDIENCE
The supernormal hearing of sounds or verbalizations.
CLAIRVOYANCE
The observation of objects or events concealed from or outside the
normal range of the ordinary physical senses.
DELTA WAVES
Deep, slow brain activity found in deep sleep; 0.5-3.5 cycles per
second.
DUAL CONSCIOUSNESS
The sensation of having the consciousness at two locations at once.
Common when consciously leaving the body.
DR. DEAN RADIN
Founder and Director of the Consciousness Research Division (CRD) of
the Harry Reid Center for Environmental Studies at the University of
Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). In addition to The Conscious Universe, Dr.
Dean Radin has published 165 journal articles and technical reports.
ESP
ESP (extra sensory perception). The knowledge of facts, happenings,
or presences through means other than the five senses of the
physical body.
FOUR LEVELS OF AWARENESS - As described in Astral Odyssey
by Carol Eby
*CONSCIOUS:
The conscious part of the mind includes mental activity that we are
aware of-- immediate perceptions from the senses and activated
mental process such as memory, emotion, imagery, reasoning,
creativity, decision making, learning, and thought. Conscious
observation of the external physical world includes discerning
publicly verifiable qualitative and quantitative information,
categorical knowledge and rules of society, and events near and far,
first hand or otherwise. conscious observation of the internal world
includes comprehending information from the senses (hunger, pain,
body position), deductive reasoning, logical induction, inference,
problem solving, reflection on past experience and emotion.
*SUBCONSCIOUS:
The subconscious consists of cognitive information that both the
unconscious and conscious have access to, but of which we are
intermittently aware. The conscious operates selectively in
monitoring the environment, only registering as much information as
it can manage directly; therefore many perceptions that go unnoticed
by the conscious are retained in the subconscious. Learned responses
are also stored in the subconscious, making it unnecessary for the
conscious mind to deliberate on such automatic action as walking,
avoiding sudden danger, or riding a bicycle. Unconscious mental
processes and contents are blocked from direct conscious access.
Rather than experiencing them directly through introspection, we can
learn about them only through inference or indirect methods.
*UNCONSCIOUS:
The unconscious contains the neurophysiological processes that keep
the physical body alive and healthy under ideal conditions, or those
that cause disease and death through psychosomatic illnesses under
adverse conditions. The unconscious creates, maintains, and controls
the brain, nervous system, and nerve impulses, and mediates between
the organic mental apparatus and mental activity. The unconscious
mind codes thoughts, messages, and responses in biophysiological
pathways which scientists are just beginning to understand.
*SUPERCONSCIOUS (aka Christ consciousness and the dharma -
body or God Body):
The term superconscious is used to refer to the part of the mind
involved in ESP, which includes telepathy, clairvoyance,
clairaudience, precognition, retrocognition, and psychometry.
HEMI-SYNC (Taken from the Monroe Institute's Website)
Hemi-Sync is a trademarked, state-of-the-art audio technology based
on the natural functioning of the brain that encourages coherent
brainwave activity. Our brains produce waves or patterns of
electrical activity. Different patterns indicate different mental
states, such as rest (occipital Alpha), deep sleep (central Delta),
meditation (central and frontal Theta), physical activity
(wide-spread Beta). Hemi-Sync's audio binaural beats influence these
brainwave patterns and in concert with other components of the
Hemi-Sync process provide experiences in focused states of
consciousness.
HYPNAGOGIC
This is the border state of consciousness between sleep and
wakefulness. This state has been found to be accompanied by a
distinct physiological characteristic, relaxation, decreased EEG
tracings showing theta waves production, slow eye movements (SEM's),
less activity of the frontalis (muscle of the forehead).
HYPNOPOMPIC
This is the state of consciousness when you are coming out of sleep,
yet not fully awake.
LUCID DREAMS
As described in Astral Odyssey by Carol Eby: A rare type of dream
where the dreamer becomes aware that the experience is a dream as
the dreaming mind understands its true condition. The dream
continues and the waking mind gains control. Lucid dreams can
typically lead to an astral projection.
PRECOGNITION
The present perception of future events.
PSYCHOMETRY
The paranormal perception of an object's history or psychic
vibration through touch.
REMOTE VIEWING
The ability to perceive people, places, events, and objects by
directing the consciousness to any destination provided via
specified coordinates. There is no limit as to whether it's current
or past, large or small, near or far. Developed largely by Ingo
Swann working under contract for SRI International, formerly known
as Stanford Research Institute.
RETROCOGNITION
The present perception of past events.
R.O.T.E.
A term created by Robert Monroe that means "Thought
Balls". R.O.T.E. stands for Related Organized Thought Energy
which is transferred from one soul to another.
TELEPATHY
Telepathy is the transfer of thoughts, feelings, or images directly
from the mind of one person to another without using physical means.
THETA WAVES
Drowsy state of brain waves; 4-7 cycles per second.
THIRD EYE
Our third eye is one of the seven primary chakras (brow chakra) and
is located between your eyebrows, but slightly raised (mid
forehead). To develop this region gives you certain attributes such
as better visualization, increased psychic perceptions, and better
creativity.
VIBRATIONS
A rapid oscillation or shaking that appears to be physical but is
not; tremors that are usually felt during altered states of
consciousness.
